Elder David M. Schnepp, 43, of Mt. Carmel, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 25, 2013. He was born February 9, 1970 in Lapeer, MI and lived in this area since 1986. David was a member of New Harvest Fellowship Church where he was an Elder and loved working with the youth. He was a firefighter with the Carter's Valley Volunteer Fire Department for 3 years and for 17 years served with Bulls Gaps, Lakeview, Striggersville and Bean Station.
David will receive an honorary ministry diploma from New Harvest Fellowship School of Ministry.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Schnepp; maternal grandparents, Lorena and Clifford Baird; paternal grandparents, Goldie and Ralph Schnepp; step-grandparents, Mary and Dale Stanton; aunt, Delores Davis; and father-in-law, Gale Simpson.
David is survived by his loving wife, Donna Schnepp; sons, Nick Metcalf and girlfriend, Kelsey Rhoton of Kingsport, and Jeremiah Gibbs of Jacksborough, TN; daughters, Latasha Harless of West Virginia, Wendy Wade and husband, Daniel of Mt. Carmel and Brittney Schnepp of Rogersville; mother and stepfather, Ruth and Ralph Stanton of Rogersville; mother-in-law, Wilma Simpson of Kingsport; brothers, James Schnepp, and Robert Schnepp, both of Rogersville; sister, Kellie White of Mississippi; brothers-in-law, Tommy Simpson and wife, Debbie of Bluff City, Scott Simpson and wife, Jennifer of Fall Branch and Greg Simpson and wife, Mary of Kingsport; sister-in-law, Pam Castle and husband, Mike of Kingsport; a special aunt, Terri Simpson; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and a lot of grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-9:00 pm at New Harvest Fellowship Church.
David will receive the highest honors from the fire department and National Fallen Fire Fighter's Foundation at a service scheduled for 1:00 pm Thursday, at New Harvest Fellowship Church with Dr. T.K. Simpson, Associate Pastor David Glass and Youth Minister, Richard Crawford officiating.
Graveside services will follow the funeral service at Logan's Chapel Cemetery in Fall Branch.
Pallbearers will be Chief Mike Yates, Frank Vaughn, Dustin Olson, Caitlin Smith, Johnny Jones, Jeff Smith, Brandon Clawson and Garrett Goff. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Fisher and the Carter's Valley Volunteer Fire Department.
