Elisabeth Sproles Lauderback
Madeleine Elisabeth Lauderback, 33, died Wednesday July 16, 2008 in Memphis, Tennessee.
Elisabeth, known as Betsy Sproles growing up in Kingsport, was a resident of Sante Fe, New Mexico for many years and recently moved to Memphis. Elisabeth was an honor student at Dobyns-Bennett and graduated in 1993. She received a degree in Art History from the University of Memphis. An active member in the art community of Sante Fe, she was the director of a local art gallery.
Elisabeth was preceded in death by her beloved Lynn M. Lauderback, step-father; maternal great grandparents, Oatye and Jim Jackson; maternal grandparents, Maynard and June Taylor and uncle, Lynn Sproles.
She is survived by her loving mother, Jan Lauderback, Kingsport ; her proud father, Gary Sproles, Fall Branch; and her cherished younger brother, Ben Sproles, Richmond, VA. ; a very special blessing to Elisabeth in Memphis was her devoted friend, Makk McVay.
The celebration of life service will be Monday July 21, 2008 at 5pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport with Dr. J. Andrew White officiating.
The family will receive friends from 3-5pm Monday at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport.
Because of Elisabeth's great love for all the animals, the family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Kingsport Animal Shelter, 2141 Idle Hour Rd. Kingsport, TN. 37660.
