Elizabeth "Liz" Austin

Elizabeth “Liz” Ann Austin, 70, of Kingsport, TN went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 18, 2023 at Holston Valley Medical Center.  Liz was a longtime Kingsport native and retired from Eastman Chemical Lab.  She loved spending time with family, especially her great-grandchildren and was a wonderful caregiver to family on both sides.  Liz was an animal person who loved her cats and dogs.  She enjoyed community service and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her parents, C.Y. (Nick) Depew and Edna Depew; brother, Chuck Depew; granddaughter, Meghan; great-grandson Kylel Lancaster; and brother-in-law, Roy Pennington.

Liz is survived by her husband of 48 years, Gene Austin; sons, Randall Austin Sr. (Pam), John D. Calhoun III and Chad Austin (Chanda); daughter, Sandra Lancaster (Nikki); grandchildren, Brittany Morrison, Randall Austin Jr., Paden Lancaster, Corey Austin and Logan Lancaster; great-grandchildren, Liam Morrison, Beau Austin, Grace Lancaster and Andrew Lancaster; sisters, Rhonda Pennington and Vada Shupe (Scott); and sisters-in-law, Brenda Depew and Kathy Brooks.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm on Friday, December 22, 2023 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Mike Stout officiating.

The graveside service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at Walnut Chapel Cemetery in Gate City, VA.

Pallbearers will be Chad Austin, Randy Austin Sr., John Calhoun, Perry Roller, Liam Morrison and Danny Weatherly.
