Libby T. Blizard, of Blountville, went to be with the Lord Thursday morning, March 15, 2012 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was born in Oak Ridge, TN and had resided in Blountville for over 25 years. Libby was a LPN and had worked at Indian Path Medical Center. Later on she had started a Nurse Contracting business.
Libby was a member of Blountville Christian Church. She was president of the Traditional Appalachian Music Heritage Association. Libby enjoyed working in stained glass and shopping.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Edward Taylor Sr. and father-in-law, H. Ralph Blizard.
Survivors include her husband, David Ralph Blizard; daughter, Laura K. Blizard; mother, Dorothy C. Taylor; two brothers, George Edward Taylor Jr. and Howard Michael Taylor; brother-in-law, Mark Blizard; nieces and nephews, Ryan Bos, Brittney Blizard, Erika Blizard, Kori Meadows, Dale Taylor, Adam Taylor, and Aaron Taylor.
The family extends a special thank you to the entire Oncology W3 Unit at Wilcox Hall.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. with Minister Steve Everroad officiating.
