Elizabeth Bowman Herron

Elizabeth Bowman Herron, born March 18, 1921, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, February 2, 2016. She was born in Middlesboro, KY but resided in Kingsport since her early teens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy W. Herron; parents, Fred and Pearl Bowman; son, Charles W. (Bill) Herron, Sr.; and 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Elizabeth is survived by her son, Robert W. (Bob) Herron; grandchildren, Tammy Hammon, Chuck Herron, Lisa Willis, David Herron, Mark Herron, Robert (Robbie) Herron, Barbie Lambert and Mandie Carter; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Ruth Sumpter.

Visitation will be held anytime at the home of her grandson, Chuck Herron.

A graveside service will be held on Friday at 12:00 pm at East Lawn Memorial Park with Chuck Herron officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607, to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept 42, Memphis, TN 38101-9908, or to Ketron Memorial United Methodist Church, 301 Virgil Ave., Kingsport, TN 37665.
