Elizabeth Hall Grindstaff, 86, of Johnson City, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 19, 2015. She was a considerate and loving person to all. Elizabeth was a surgical nurse for Dr. Long, Dr. Morgan, and Dr. Rannick that operated out of The Johnson City Memorial Hospital and Medical Center. She also enjoyed working outdoors, especially with her roses. Elizabeth was a member of the Fordtown Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Grindstaff; parents, Vertie and Alexander "Doc" Hall; sister, Mary Louise Hall; brothers, GB Hall, Elmo Hall, Ralph Hall, Raymond Hall, Jay Hall, and Frank Hall.
Elizabeth is survived by her three step children, Peggy Grindstaff Bradley and husband Omar, Billy Grindstaff, and David Grindstaff; three step grandchildren, Clinton Thomas, Eric Lee Thomas, and Becky Cato; sisters, Edith Bullis of Kingsport, and Gladith Galloway of Kingsport; sister-in-law, Reba Hall; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and God Daughter, Tracy Honeycutt.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. on Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow with Pastor Bryan Moore officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at Oak Hill Memorial Park following the funeral service.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fordtown Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 444 Old Fordtown Road, Kingsport, Tennessee 37663.
