Ella B. "Tootsie" Rochester

Ella B. Rochester, 74, of Kingsport, TN, passed away at her home late Tuesday afternoon, September 29, 2009, called home to be with her Lord and Savior.

Ella was born in Virginia, and later moved to Kingsport, where she was a housewife and loving mother. Ella was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonzo and Minnie Sexton; a son, Tracey Salyer; one brother, Carl Sexton; a sister Anna Bartley and husband Willie.

Ella is survived by her loving husband, Harold Salyer; five sons, Carl Rochester and wife Helen, Phillip Rochester and wife Valerie, Randall Rochester and wife Cheryl, Johnny Rochester and wife Denise, and Chad Salyer and wife Betsey; eight grandchildren, Maranda, Nakita, April, Melanie, John, Jason, Ethan, and Laney; eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joe Sexton and wife Juanita, and Lewis Sexton and wife Penny; a sister, Betty Bear and husband Worley; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, on Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Services will be conducted at 7:00.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
