Elsie Ruth Hobbs

Elsie Ruth Hobbs, 81, Blountville, TN, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the Greystone Health Care Center.

She was born in Sullivan County and lived in the area her entire life. She formerly attended Gunnings Bible Church.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, George W. and Mary S. Hobbs; brother, Earnest Hobbs; sister, Velma Jean Hobbs; nephew, Ira Hobbs; her paternal grandparents, John W. and Louise Hobbs; and maternal grandparents, W.D. and Martha Clayman.

She is survived by her brothers, George W. Hobbs and wife, Maisie, and Raymond Danny Hobbs; sisters, Marie Hobbs and Linda Robinson; two nieces, Christine Yankee and husband, Mark and Rebecca Rice and husband, Shannon; one nephew, Charles Hobbs; three great-nieces; one great nephew; one aunt; one uncle; several cousins; and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm on Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The service will follow at 7 pm with Rev. Randall Shaffer officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 am on Saturday at Gunnings Cemetery. Family will be pallbearers.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Greystone Health Care Center, especially the 2nd floor staff.
