Elsie Pearl Minton

Elsie McCoy Minton, 76, of Kingsport, passed away Friday, January 19, 2007 surrounded by family and friends at Indian Path Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

Born in Hawkins County, she resided in Kingsport most of her life and attended Central Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Minton was a good and faithful wife, great mother, mother-in-law, and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Thomas and Susan Goad; first husband, Ernest McCoy; sisters, Laura Mae Jarrett, Minnie Wallen, Dorothy Simpson, and Hazel Brought; and brothers, Wayne Goad, Joe Goad, Ralph Goad, and Roy Goad.

Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Lee Minton; two sons, Jimmy McCoy and wife, Angela; and Barry McCoy; one sister, Levonia Presley, all of Kingsport; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Services will follow at 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Rev. Hagan Webb and Rev. Charlie Jarrett officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Ross Campground United Methodist Church. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
