Elva Kay Browning 66, went to the arms of Jesus Sunday, January 26, 2014 at 11:22 am. Elva was of the Baptist faith and loved to play the piano and sing. She was a devoted Christian, mother, nana, sister and friend to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her son, Bryan Browning, her sister, Helen Mitchell and parents, James and Margaret Taylor.
Elva is survived by two daughters, Kristy Browning and Kathy Morelock; seven grandchildren, Amanda and husband, Kenneth, Angel and fiancé, Michael, Casey "Scotty" and wife, Kari, Andy, Alex, Bryanna and Derek; ten great-grandchildren; a life-long special friend, Bob Browning; three sisters, Ada Oliver and husband, Lewis, Barbara Curry, and Linda Bowen Heitz; two brothers, James Earl Taylor and wife, Phyllis, and Ed Taylor and wife, Angie; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, or at any time at the home of her daughter, Kristy Browning. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Ron Cassidy and Pastor Paul R. Moody officiating. Music will be provided by the family.
A graveside service will be conducted on Friday at 12:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Bellamy, John Brooks, Casey Bullion, Andrew Ward, Alex Hawkins, Derek Hawkins, Bryan "Cameron" Simpson and Cody Bullion.
It is suggested that memorial contributions may be made to a memorial fund set in Robert Browning's name, 808 Teasel Dr. Apt, Kingsport, TN 37660.
