Emily Sue Triplett

Emily Sue Triplett 81, of Kingsport, died Thursday, August 4th 2011 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Freemont, Virginia she was a 1948 graduate of Sullivan High School. Sue retired from the State of Tennessee in 2006 after many years of service. She was a longtime member of Glenwood Baptist Church.

Emily was preceded in death by husband Claude "Toby" Triplett, sister Coach Kate Carter and brother Charles Mitchell.

She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Easterling and husband Sam of Louisville, TN and Ann Holdam and husband Joshua Muncy of Nashville, TN. Two sons, Michael Triplett and wife Delilah of Dallas, GA and Toby Triplett and wife Mary of Kingsport, TN. Two grandchildren, Myles Triplett and Emily Easterling and one step grandson, Dorian Otwell. Sister-in-law Janet Mitchell of Virginia and 2 nieces, Kerry Trice and Jana Mitchell.

Calling hours are 1-3:00 p.m, Sunday August 7, 2011 at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Entombment services will be held on Sunday, August 7th at 3:30 p.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Charles Roberts officiating. Pallbearers will be Michael Triplett, Toby Triplett, Sam Easterling, Myles Triplett and Joshua Muncy.

Memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels of Kingsport, 727 Eastman Road, Kingsport, TN 37660.

A special thank you to Glenwood Baptist Church. The family thanks all that provided food, friendship and support to Sue in these final months. We wish to thank Toby, Mary and Myles who gave Sue daily care and love. We especially want to acknowledge Mary, who treated Sue like her own mother and whom Sue loved like her own daughter.
