Emma Anderson

Mary Emma Lloyd Anderson, 83, of Kingsport went to sleep in the arms of the Lord on Thursday morning, October 24, 2019 at Wexford House, surrounded by her family, after an extended illness.  She lived in Kingsport most of her life and worked at Peggy Ann Restaurant, Roses Luncheonette, Holston Drug and Earle’s Drug.  Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Pentecostal Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence H. and Lola Lloyd; son, Allen Ray Canter; brothers, Paul, Bill “WG”, James, Wayne and Jerry; and brother-in-law, Rev. Ellis J. Crawford.

Emma is survived by her daughter, Mary Canter of Kingsport; granddaughter, Courtney Anzalone and husband, Adam; grandson, R.J. Conant; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Journie, Jasper and Lola Anzalone, and Kaylee Conant; sister, Shirley Crawford of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 pm on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, and at anytime at her sister Shirley’s home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Will Shewey officiating.  Burial will follow in Mt. Mitchell Cemetery in Church Hill.  Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
