Emma Faye Williams Barnett, 83, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully, Sunday, April 12, 2020, at home, surrounded by her family, after an extended illness. Born in Kingsport and raised in the Lone Star community, she attended Sullivan High School and received an Associate Degree in Business from Northeast State. Faye was a member of Calvary Church in Johnson City and the Lone Star Group. She loved her family but she loved God. Faye was a woman of great faith. Her number one goal in life was to be a faithful servant to her Lord Jesus Christ. She was a Prayer Warrior.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Thomas L. Barnett; son, Tommy Barnett; father, Patrick Williams; mother, Grace Smith Williams; great grandson, Elijah Mullins; brothers, Ralph, Wallace Ray, Clifton, Hagen, Elmer, and Hansford Williams; and sisters, Ruby Forbes, Frances, Edna, and Jean Williams.
Faye is survived by her children, Terry Barnett and wife Robin, and DeAnna Sluss and husband Donnie; grandchildren, Patricia Perkins and husband Jeremy, Kresant Flanary and husband Aaron, Daniel Sluss and wife Ashley, Mark Cody, Lindsay Lane and husband Kevin, Kandis Barnett, and Courtney Taylor and husband Michael;; sister, Marlene Young of Dora, Alabama; brother, Ronald Williams of Kingsport; special niece and best friend, Grace Rodriguez; several nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Ballad Health Hospice, especially Nicky Jessen.
In consideration of the current distancing guidelines, a private family funeral service will be at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport with Rev. Bill Cody officiating. Streaming of the service will be available at 1:00 pm on Hamlett-Dobson’s web site.
Family burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Sluss, Jeremy Perkins, Kevin Lane, Aaron Flanary, Darrell Williams, and David Williams.
