Emmajane Chumley

Emmajane Chumley, 86, of Kingsport, died Thursday, May 2, 2019 at NHC of Bristol.  Born in Shelton Conn, she had resided in Kingsport since 1952.  She served in the U.S. Airforce during the Korean conflict where she met her husband, Walter Chumley. Emmajane retired from the Kingsport Housing Authority.  She was a lifelong Lutheran and had been a member of Holy Trinity since 1952, where she was active in the prayer shawl ministry, WELCA, and assisted in the youth ministry. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Walter Chumley.

Emmajane is survived by 2 daughters, Laura Chumley of Syracuse, NY, and Judy Zager and husband, Jeff of Loudon, TN; son, Eugene Chumley and wife, Jennifer of Abingdon, VA; 4 grandchildren, Gwendolyn Chumley & husband, Chris Swingle, Alexander Gilley and wife, Jessica, Kathleen Zager and Gregory Zager; and great-granddaughter, Kaylee Gilley.

The family will receive friends from 5-6:00 pm on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. A Celebration of Life will follow at 6:00 pm with Pastor James Bangle officiating.

The graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
