Emmett Patton Absher, 56, of Kingsport died Monday, October 25, 2010.
Emmett was born in Kingsport where he resided his entire life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Emmett had a very good heart and was loved by family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Willie Pierce Absher; sister Edith Ann Steffey; grandparents Ada Hammonds, Gertrude Statzer, Joe Saul and Amanda Saul; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and a very special friend Sheila Hunt.
Surviving are his mother Lillian Statzer Absher Price; brothers: Willie Absher, Kenny Absher, Daniel Absher and wife Donna; sisters: Mary Absher, Virgie Chase and husband Steve, Linda Ramey, Peggy Ellis and Tammy Begley; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 27, 2010 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport with services following at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Richard Dice officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Old Kingsport Presbyterian Church Cemetery; family and friends should meet at the cemetery.
Memorials contributions may be given to the organization of the donor s choice.
