Emory Lee Rhoton, 75, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Monday, June 25, 2007, at Golden Homestead House in Coeburn, Virginia, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Scott County, Virginia, he had resided most of his life in Kingsport.
Surviving are his wife, Ruby P. Rhoton, Kingsport; two daughters, Phyllis Sullivan and husband, Ron, and Brenda Bailey and husband, Kent, all of Kingsport; four grandchildren, Aaron Bailey, Eric Bailey, Chris Helton and wife, Amanda, Leslie Shipley and husband, Craig; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Powers and husband, Ronald, Duffield, VA, Ruby Belle Matney, Baltimore, Maryland; one brother, Charles Rhoton and wife, Anna, Gate City, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Willie Neeley and Evangelist Kenneth Neeley officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Roberts Family Cemetery in Clinchport, Virginia.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
