Ernest "JB" White, 73, of the Lynn Garden Community, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 13, 2009 at his home with his family by his side following a lengthy illness.
JB attended Gravely Baptist Church and Fairview Holiness Church.
He was owner of JB White Construction retiring in 1995. JB was a loving husband, father, papaw, and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his son, Scotty White; parents, Paris and Isabelle White; brother, Fred White; sisters, Ebbie Edison, Analou Chapman, Kelly Griffith, and Nannie Gilliam; nephew and brother-in-law, Richard Howe.
Surviving are his wife, Betty White of the home; daughters, Anita White Hensley and husband Allen of Kingsport, Karen White Darnell and husband Steve of Blountville, Tammy Necessary Barnett and husband Danny and Tina Necessary Brown and soul mate Mike Lockwood, all of Kingsport; sons, Roy "Ernie" White of Kingsport, Randy White and wife Donna of Easley, SC, and Mark White of Kingsport; twenty-two grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; an unborn great-grandchild; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Neeley Howe of Orlando, FL and Mary Ryans and husband J. W. of Fall Branch; brothers, PC White and wife Shirley and Tony H. White and wife Debra, all of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews; and special pet, "Princess".
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport and any time at the home.
Services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor David Salley and Pastor Chris Fields officiating.
Entombment services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Church Hill Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
