Ettna Foulk, 90, of Kingsport, passed peacefully into glory, Saturday, October 26, 2013, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a short illness.
Born in Hiltons, VA, a daughter of the late George P. and Cosby Dennison McMurray, she has resided in Kingsport since age 19 following her marriage to Warren G. Foulk, January 5, 1942.
She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother (Gibby and Bebe), for her quick wit, as a wonderful cook and homemaker, and an accomplished dancer. She was known for her poise and grace and was a former Miss Hiltons. Ettna's loving and generous manner was exemplified by her concern for animal welfare and the homeless.
Ettna retired following 25 years of service at J. C. Penney Company where she was a buyer and merchandising associate. She was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Warren G. Foulk; sister, Estelle Hensley; and brother, Ervin McMurray.
Ettna is survived by her daughter, Judy Mosley and husband, Lynn, Kingsport; son, Dwight Foulk and wife, Elizabeth (Betsy) Foulk, Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren, Amber Brown and husband, Wes, Atlanta, Alexa Mosley and husband, Brett Lavoie, Arlington, VA, Andy Foulk, Atlanta; and Margaret (Meggie) Foulk, Atlanta; two great-grandchildren, Stella Grace Brown and Hudson Mosley Brown; one niece, Peggy Hensley, Hiltons, VA; and one nephew, Jerry McMurray, FL; and her special friends at Ft. Henry Arms.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her wonderful physicians, Dr. Paul Singh, Dr. Harry Turner, Dr. Joseph Smiddy, Dr. Michael Dew, and Dr. Woodrow Reeves and her special nurses and caregivers.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 28, 2013, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at First Broad Street United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Mickey Rainwater and Rev. Jack P. Weikel officiating.
The graveside service will be on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
