Eugene Hicks

Eugene Hicks, of Church Hill, passed away Friday, August 24, 2012, at his home. He was born in Washington County, TN, and had lived in Kingsport for several years, prior to moving to Church Hill.

He was retired from Oak Hill Cemetery Grounds Maintenance. Eugene was a member of Kingsport Calvary Church of the Nazarene. He was a very hard worker and a perfectionist and never gave up. Eugene was a loving husband, step-father, step-grandfather, brother and uncle.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Della Hicks; sister, Mary Ruth Robinson; four brothers, William, Haskell, Roy and Sammy Hicks.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Hicks, of Church Hill; step-daughter, Trula Winters, of Kingsport; three step-sons, Sydney Winters and wife, Patricia, of Kingsport; Dwayne Fletcher and wife, Charlotte, of Kingsport; Gary Fletcher, Nashville, TN; eight step-grandchildren; sister, Gladys Robinson of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews,

Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Roller Chapel Cemetery with Pastor John Hodge officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:45 p.m.
