Eugene V Ward
Eugene V. Ward, 91, Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, November 4, 2008.
Eugene was born and resided in Wise County, VA where he was a miner prior to leaving for the military. He retired after 20 years service with the U. S. Air Force.
He was a member of Rock Springs United Methodist Church. Eugene loved music and played various instruments.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Roscoe and Ada Lawson Ward; sisters, Vonda Herda and Charollett Benfield; and brother, Ara Ward.
Surviving are his wife, Frances Chase Ward, Kingsport; two sisters, Erma Herron, Amelia, OH and Doris Moore, Bossier City, LA; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. Thursday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Joseph W. Manis and Regina Shelton officiating.
Burial will be at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Memorial contributions may be given to the U. S. Veterans Center, 1615 W. Market St, #A, Johnson City, TN 37604.
