Eula Mae Phillips, 88, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Brookhaven Manor following a lengthy illness. She was born in Sullivan County and was a lifetime resident. Eula had worked at TEC in her early years. Mrs. Phillips was a member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church. She loved her family and also her church family, especially the children and youth group.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie E. Phillips; parents, Orley and Margaret Hudson; two sisters, Gertrude Light and Ruby Light; brother, Fred Hudson; and special grandson, Joel Nathan Sims.
Eula is survived by her daughter, Margaret Sims and husband, Rev. Stanley Sims of Kingsport; and son, Donnie Phillips and wife, Rebecca of Kingsport; two special caregivers, Kim Dougherty and Diane Ericksmoen; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 1st from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 2nd at 1:00 pm at First Christian Church, 106 E. Charlemont Ave., Kingsport, TN, with Rev. Jon Roberts and Rev. Stanley Sims officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Friends will serve as pallbearers.
