Eunice Jones, 81, of Limestone, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at the Johnson City Medical Center after an extended illness. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Eunice will be remembered for her cooking, especially her homemade rolls and peanut butter balls. To her, home was the most important place to be. Eunice devoted 18 years of her life to caring for her husband after he became ill. This devotion was instilled in her daughter, Christy, who stayed with her Mother until the end.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Jones; parents, Dona and James Monroe Eastep; sisters, Gladys Shipley, Ruth Morelock, Erma Morelock, and Mable Hicks; brothers, Ralph Eastep, Carl Eastep, Haskell Eastep, and infant brother, Paul Eastep.
Eunice is survived by her daughters, Susan Stroud and husband Dusty and Christy Jones; two grandchildren, Tiffany and Logan Stroud; and one great-granddaughter, Sophia Kinsler; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friend, Brenda Malone.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 20, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. at the Cherry Hill Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Beryl Fann and Pastor Steve Wilson officiating. It was Eunice's wish to be cremated.
A dinner will follow in Eunice's honor in the fellowship hall at the church. Anyone who wishes may bring a covered dish to the dinner.
