Eunice P. Norris

Eunice P. Norris, 83, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, (January 18, 2014) at her residence.

Born in St. Charles, VA, on July 3, 1930, a daughter of the late John Fair and Bessie Stapleton, she has resided in this area since age 16. She will be remembered as a strong, loving, caring, and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who touched the hearts of everyone. Eunice retired from Kingsport Press in 1976 following 30 years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant grand-son, William Ronald Barker.

Eunice is survived by her children, Melissa Barker Deas and husband, Richard, Kingsport, Michael W. Norris and wife, Cissie, Kingsport, Rena Norris, Kingsport, Darren L. Norris and wife, Nancy, Kingsport, and Lorie Norris, Church Hill; grandchildren, Joshua Barker and wife, Cayla, Michael Anthony Norris, Ronald Albert Barker II, Mark Allen, Jessee James, Ronnie, and Randy Vicars, Michael Clark, Johnathon and Benjamin Foulk, Stefani Smith and Patrick Adinolfi, and Julia Worley; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Brandon, Sidney, Carley, Colton, Jocelyn Marie, Dante, Bentley, Gabriel, Kayla, Ethan, Jessee James, Garrett, Lydia Dean, Charlotte, Adaya, Gatlin, Hailey, Bryson, and Ronald; special friends and neighbors, Butch, Bill, Ann and Francis.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, and at other hours at 205 Frisco Ave., Church Hill. Services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Richard Dice officiating.

Burial will follow graveside services at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2014, at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those attending committal services are asked to assemble at the funeral home by 1:15 p.m. Thursday and then proceed to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Darren Norris, Michael Norris, Joshua Barker, Benjamin Foulk, Richard Deas, Patrick Adinolfi, Brandon Williams and Michael Williams. Johnathon Foulk will be an honorory pallbearer.
