Eunice Grace Rowe, 100, of Kingsport, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Wexford House. She is the daughter of the late, W.J. and Mary Hyder. Eunice came to Kingsport in 1937 and settled in Sullivan Gardens. She was an active member of Glen Alpine United Methodist Church for many years and loved her church family as her own. Eunice was a quilter at the Exchange Place for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.F. Jim Rowe; grandson, Eric Northrop; daughter, Janice Kilpatrick; daughter-in-law, Gloria Rowe; four sisters and three brothers.
Eunice is survived by daughter, Joy Jordan and husband, Paul of Hollywood, FL; sons, James Rowe and wife, Joyce and Gary H. Rowe, all of Kingsport; sisters, Timmy Rowan and Mary Wampler of Johnson City and Dorothy Sherfey of Sulphur Springs, TN; brothers; Daryl G. Hyder and wife Pansey of Kingsport; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 26, 2011 from 11 to 1:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow with Rev. Dale Gilbert officiating.
Interment will follow the funeral service at East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be grandsons and family.
