Ms. Evangeline Collings Ring, born January 16, 1939 in Scott County, VA passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend and was of the Baptist faith.
Ms. Ring was employed by the U.S. Government in Washington D.C. for many years, retiring from the Department of Education in 1994. She was a member of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees. She enjoyed antiquing and especially her beloved grandchildren who were the apple of her eye.
Ms. Ring was preceded in death by her parents Chauncey and Dona Opal Click Collings; two brothers, Delmas Lyndon and Warren Dale Collings; two sisters, Janice Collings Lane and infant, Eleanor Kay Collings.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, John and LaDonna Ring; two grandchildren, Joshua and Ashley Ring; sisters, Dolores Collings Randall, Carolyn Collings Coverdale; brother Garry Wayne Collings and numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, June 22, 2011at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will follow at 7 pm with Pastor J.W. Depew officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 am Thursday at Morrison Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
