Evelyn Holland, 63, of Jonesborough, TN, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at her home with her family by her side following a lengthy illness.
She was a lifelong resident of Washington County and was of the Baptist Faith.
Her parents, Charlie and Lenora Sherfey; three brothers, Dennis, Everett, and John Sherfey; sister, Alice Neice; and grandson, Dewayne James preceded her in death.
Surviving are her husband, Rev. Homer Holland, Jonesborough, TN; two daughters, Joyce Carroll and husband Tommy, Limestone, TN; and Sara James and friend Earl Malone, Jonesborough, TN; son, Billy Holland and wife, Vickie, Greeneville, TN; brother, Raymond Sherfey and wife Rosella, Jonesborough, TN; special friends, Ricky Quillen and Gary Lothridge, several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are 6-9:00 p.m. Friday at the Fall Branch Chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes.
Services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Fall Branch Chapel with Rev. Jerry Scalf and Pastor Eddie McAmis officiating.
Pallbearers will be Lacy Miller, Gary Lothridge, Marshall Holland, Rafel Malone, Sherman Johnson, and David Hammond. Honorary pallbearers are Jackie Poore and Vestil Bud Holland.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
