Evelyn Jean Rose Pierce, 82, Kingsport, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011 after an extended illness.
Evelyn was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She lived in Kingsport all her life and was a member of Glen Alpine United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, David Copperfield Pierce, she was preceded in death by her parents, Homer E. and Grace Riggs Rose; one sister, Gay Barnes; and one daughter, Kristy Gail Pierce.
Surviving are her two daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly and Daniel Payne of Kingsport and Kathy and Kelly Cooper of Conway, SC; two sisters, Anna R. Haley of Palatka, FL and Trudy R. Byron of Kingsport; one step-grandchild, Corey Cooper of Conway, SC; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport or anytime at the home of Danny and Kelly.
Funeral services will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dale Gilbert officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pierce Family Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m.
