Evie Hubbard
Evie Hubbard, 95, of the Eastern Star community, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. She was a member of Eastern Star Freewill Baptist Church, and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.
Evie was preceded in death by her husband, Worley Hubbard, a brother, Bruce Bledsoe, and two sisters, Della Vanzant and Stella Moore.
She is survived by a son, Ira Hubbard and wife, Sandra, of Kingsport; a daughter, Janice Barry and husband, Eddie, also of Kingsport; two grandchildren, David Todd Hubbard and Jay Hubbard; a great-grandson, Brayden Caleb Hubbard; two sisters, Ruth Moore and Georgia Ward, both of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Services will be conducted on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Eastern Star Freewill Baptist Church, with Rev. Jerry Davenport and Rev. George Winegar officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Memorial contributions may be made to Eastern Star Freewill Baptist Church, 153 Eastern Star Extension, Kingsport, TN 37663.
The family would like to express thanks to the 6th floor nurses at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center and the staff at Brookhaven Manor.
