Fannie Louise Ketron, 64, of Gate City, VA. died Sunday afternoon, November 28, 2010 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Kingsport, she had resided in Gate City most of her life. Louise was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was an avid quilter and loved taking care of her grandchildren.
Louise was preceded in death by her father: Deward Howard Absher.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, James Ray Ketron, Sr. of the home; daughter, Teresa Ann Smith of Kingsport; son, James Ray Ketron, Jr. of Gate City; eleven grandchildren, Jessica Smith, Jarred Bush, Chris Smith, Courtney Strong, Justin Ketron, Lindsey Strong, Jewell Ketron, Kayla Ketron, Haley Smith, Grace Ketron, and Riley Ketron; mother, Imalove Absher of Gate City; one sister, Judy Swift of Kingsport; one brother, Kenneth Absher of Gate City; and several cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport with Pastor Danny Sykes and Brother Pete Barbour officiating. Graveside service will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Music will be provided by the Oak Glen Singers.
Pallbearers will be Chris Smith, Justin Ketron, Jarred Bush, Travis Ketron, and Nathan Moody. Honorary Pallbearers are Charles Ketron, Edgar Gamble, and Johnny Ward.
