Fay Hommel Stapleton

Fay Stapleton, born on August 22, 1951, in Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025, in Blountville, Tennessee, surrounded by her loved ones.  She was a graduate of Ketron High School in 1969 and a proud Ketron Alumni Member. Fay built a life filled with love and cherished memories. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. She will be deeply missed by those who knew her. 

Preceding her in death were her parents, Cecil and Beatrice Hommel.

Fay is survived by her husband, Larry Stapleton; her sons, Jeff Berry and his wife Barbara Berry, Matthew Stapleton and his fiancée Sarah Tester; and daughter Tracy Simpson; her grandchildren Blaike Releford, Katlyn Connell, Rusty Pope, De’marius Simpson, and Collin Tester; and her great-grandchildren, Lily Pope, Luke Lawson, Ryder Pope, Bailey-Mae Connell, Beaux Connell, and Oakleigh Releford. 

Fay created a beautiful life that will be forever treasured by those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of family and friends. 

A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Memorial Park, 2630 Hwy. 75, Blountville, Tennessee, in the Garden of Masonic with Pastor Ryan Shaffer officiating.
