Faye Winkle Peck, 77, of Kingsport, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2007, after a brief illness.
She was a devoted Christian wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved the Lord, her family, and her church. She was a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church and sang with the Friendship Quartet for many years.
Preceding her in death were her first husband, Virgil Winkle; her parents, Clayton and Amanda Sampson; her sisters, Monnie McClain, Maxie Smith, Irene Church, Rella Sampson, Lillian Gilreath, and Kathleen Carter; and her brothers, John Henry, Bill, Rawn, Clayton Jr., Roy, and Joe Sampson.
Surviving are her husband, Henry Peck; two daughters, Charlotte Fletcher and husband, Robert, Becky Lawson and husband, Danny; grandchildren, Sharon Kilgore, Christy Robinson, Dustin Lawson, and Adam Lawson; three great-grandchildren; four step-children, Patsy Perry, Shirley Stacey, Todd Peck, and Rodney Peck, twelve step grandchildren and nineteen step great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Fletcher and Brother Ralph Owens officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
