Fern Bellamy, Nola Fern Clark, 80, of Kingsport died March 27, 2010 after courageously endeavoring to live life to the fullest!
Born in Port Clinton, Ohio, Fern was the daughter of Marion Sydney Clark and Ottie Myrtle Love Clark.
Fern was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church and had been actively involved in the Silver Sounds Choir and the Crusaders Sunday school class. Her children were her life and she participated in all of their activities. Until her health began to fail her, she was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Optimisses Club of Kingsport.
She was a loving wife and mother and will be remembered by family and many friends for her quick wit and sense of humor.
Fern was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 52 years, Ralph Edward Eddie Bellamy and a son, Randy Clark Bellamy.
She is survived by her daughter, Retta Overturf; son-in-law Brad, granddaughters, Carrie Overturf Meillet and husband, Vincent of Brooklyn, NY; Katherine Katie Overturf Willi and husband Ryan of Cincinnati, OH; sister Phyllis Clark Dean of Mount Carmel, TN.; sister-in-law Lillian B. Solt of Kingsport and 3 nieces and 2 nephews.
The family is especially grateful for the loving care provided by the entire staff of The Oaks Assisted Living - her home for the last 3 years - and by Amedysis Hospice during the last 7 months of her life; and Dr. Melania Bochis and her staff at ETSU Physicians.
Visitation will be in the chapel of Hamlet Dobson Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 30 from 2-4 p.m. and a celebration of Fern's life will be held immediately following by the Rev. Jack Weikel. Burial will follow at Surgoinsville United Methodist Church Cemetery.
