Ferne Murray Erwin

Ferne Murray Erwin, age 93 of 211 E. Augusta Place, Greenville, SC, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2014 surrounded by her beloved daughter, Deirdre and beloved granddaughter, Kristin. She was the widow of William C Erwin, Sr.

Mrs. Erwin had worked at T.E.C. and ECPI in both Kingsport, TN and Cleveland Ohio, Spartanburg School District 7 and retired from the School District of Greenville County in 1986.

She was a member of Augusta Road Baptist Church, a member of the Mary Martha Sunday School Class and Friendly Neighbors.

Ferne was predeceased by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. James E Murray, a brother Woodrow Murray and two sisters Maude Purcell and Myrtle Russell.

She is survived by a son, William C. Erwin, Jr. (Lisa) of Palmdale, CA and a daughter, Deirdre E. Bowen (William) of Greenville, SC. Also, she is survived by four grandchildren, Kristin Martin, Trey Erwin, Katie Erwin and Caitlin Scott and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be on June, 13, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park in Kingsport, TN with Dr. Ron Davis officiating.

In lieu of flowers, any donations should be made in her memory to her church of many years, Augusta Road Baptist Church at 1823 Augusta Rd, Greenville, SC.
