Flora Elizabeth Fields, 91, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord late Saturday evening at home.
Flora was born in Scott County, Virginia, and resided in Kingsport since her childhood. She was retired from Holston Valley Medical Center. Flora was a member of Cedar View Independent Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Alta Sanders Bates; husband, Rev. Hubert Fields; daughter, Betty Jean; infant sister; and brother, Ernest Bates.
She is survived by her son, Pastor Jim Fields and wife, Mary, Kingsport; daughter, Mrs. Gwen Pope and husband, Allan, Kingsport; grandchildren, Tami Bewley and husband, Robert, Jim Miller and wife, Regina, Kimberla Stewart, Katrina Ferguson and husband, Mark; step-granddaughter, Latisha Walling and husband, Hunter; 4 great-grandchildren, Nichole, Dylan, Joshua, Nicklaus; step-great granddaughter, Parker Grace.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Wilcox Hall W3 and Wellmont Hospice nursing staff, especially, Reneé Josie, Becky, Becca, Christina, Lara and Karen.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 24, from 5 - 7 p.m. at Cedar View Independent Methodist Church, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Jim Fields and Rev. Wrightly Salling officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA.
Pallbearers will be Jim Miller, Allan Pope, Robert Bewley, Carson Fields, Gerald Fields and Russell Ratliff.
