Floyd Brown, 87, of Mount Carmel, passed away Friday, May 2, 2008.
Mr. Brown retired from Tennessee Eastman Kodak and was a member of Jericho Shrine, the Masons, and Church Hill VFW. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Reece Brown; mother, Nellie Brown; father, John Brown; six brothers, Berry, Jack, Ed, Charlie, Gene, and Paul Brown; and four sisters, Mary Dorton, Pauline Milhorn, Pearl Squibb and Nell Light.
Surviving are his daughter, Connie Brown of Mount Carmel; son, Michael Brown and wife Hope of Church Hill; four granddaughters, Sara Watts, Michelle Hicks, Crystal Brown, and Michaela Brown; two step-grandchildren, Rachael Fugate and Donald Rowlett; five great-grandchildren, Samantha Ashworth, Hunter Hicks, Jasmine Watts, A. J. Watts, and unborn great-granddaughter; two step-great-grandchildren, Alexis Lee and Lauren Fugate; one sister, Grace Hokans of Bella Vista, Arkansas; best friends, Charlie White, Wendell Christian, and Wilma Finney; and his cat, "Pickel".
Calling hours are from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport and anytime at the home of his son, Michael at 265 Cold Comfort Rd. Church Hill.
A Masonic service will be held at 7:00 at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow with Pastor Mike Stout officiating.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at East Lawn Memorial Park with military rites by the Church Hill VFW.
Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Church Hill Color Guard.
