Floyd Phillips, 77, formerly of Bank Drive, Fall Branch, died at Reed Nursing Home in Limestone on Monday, November 21, 2011. He was the son of the late David and Agnes Holbert Phillips, also of Fall Branch. Mr. Phillips served in the Armed Forces and retired from the former Kingsport Press of Hawkins County.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Evans Phillips, an infant grandson, Paul Phillips, three brothers; Jack, Coy and J.C. Phillips and one sister, Betty Jean Bailey.
Floyd is survived by two sons, David C. Charles Phillips and his wife, Patti, one grandson, Patrick Phillips, all of Bowmantown Community; Keith Phillips and his wife, Sharon; four step-grandchildren, Josh Williams, Lucas Presley, Daniel Presley, and Julie Presley, all of Kingsport; three brother-in-laws, Charles B. Buddy Evans and his wife, Fonda of Chuckey, Bill Evans of Kingsport and Rob Bailey of Baileyton.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Fall Branch. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 pm. in the chapel with Rev. Tim Broyles and the Rev. Alfred Cutshall officiating.
Military graveside services will be conducted by American Legion Posts 3/265 on Friday, November 25th at 1:00 p.m. at Lovelace Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
