Frances Williams Hamm, 87, of Gray, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at The Life Care Center of Gray. Born in Surgoinsville, she had resided in Kingsport before moving to Gray in 1955. She was a graduated of Surgoinsville High School. Frances had worked for Tennessee Eastman Company in the yarn plant division from the late 1940's until 1955. She was primarily a homemaker and was a member of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church in Gray where she taught Sunday School for many years. Frances enjoyed gardening and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Hamm; parents, Bertha and Roy A. Williams, Sr.; sisters, Edith Williams Lane, Martha Barrett, Annie Williams and Katherine Williams; and brothers, Chester Dee Williams and Frank Williams.
Frances is survived by her two sons, Charlie Hamm and Edward Hamm; siblings, Ruth Williams Miller, Roy Andrew Williams and Lillian Williams Morelock; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 12-2:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jody Jenkins officiating. Music will be provided by Gary Seaman.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
