Frances Boling Hawkins, 99, of Kingsport, passed away quietly at home May 24, 2011.
Frances retired from the Kingsport School District after teaching at the elementary level. She had received her BS from the University of Georgia and her MS from East Tennessee State University.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Sexton Hawkins; parents, Cora and David Boling; four sisters and four brothers.
Frances is survived by her sons, John Sexton Hawkins, Jr. and wife Jane of Jonesborough, and David William Hawkins of Arlington, TX; four grandchildren, Ginger Hawkins Mowdy of Kingsport, Julia W. Hawkins and Jillian L. Hawkins, both of Jonesborough, and Sara H. Hawkins of Arlington, TX; and one great-grandson, Cory R. Mowdy of Kingsport.
The family wishes to thank her caregivers and hospice workers.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 29, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport with Rev. Jack Weikel officiating.
