Frances Lee Miller
Frances Lee Miller, 88, of Kingsport, left this Earth to be with her Heavenly Father Thursday morning, December 1, 2011. She passed away at the Wexford House after an extended illness. She was surrounded by her family.
A lifelong resident of Sullivan County, she grew up in the Fordtown community. Frances was a homemaker, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of Mafair United Methodist Church, and enjoyed cooking and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Dickson Miller; brothers, Robert Gray and Willie Dean Gray; sister, Mildred Stafford.
Frances is survived by three daughters, Gloria Jean Miller of Abingdon, VA, Elaine Smoot and husband, Calder of Beech Mountain, NC and Marilyn Hicks of Kingsport; grandchildren, John Calder Smoot, Lorie Frances Hicks and Brittany Renee Hicks; brother, Samuel Gray of Kingsport; sisters, Shirley Shipley and husband, Joe of Kingsport and Vendetta Gilley and husband, Everett of Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Saturday, December 3, 2011 from 1-2:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Bryan Moore officiating.
Interment will follow at Gunnings Cemetery in Blountville, TN.
