Frances Herald Musick, 83, of the Harmony Community, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at her home. Born in Tazewell County, VA, she was a graduate of Tazewell High School, Class of 1958. Following high school, she worked at Blue Grass Supply Co. in Tazewell. Frances married Ernest Elden Musick in 1964. They moved to Kingsport in 1966 and then moved to the Harmony Community in 1973. She had been a loyal member of Logans Chapel Methodist Church where she held many jobs, especially treasurer position and was president of the Methodist Women’s Group. Frances had retired as secretary from Daniel Boone High School. She loved her husband and all of her family very much.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Newt and Virginia Herald; two sisters, Shirley Messer and Martha Flanigan; two nieces, Shelia Tillie and Kim Keyton.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ernest Musick; two sons, Mike Musick and wife, Kim, and Chad Musick and wife, Angie; four grandchildren, Morgan Arney and husband, Jordan, Madison Dotson and husband, Izak, Ethan Musick and wife, Kim and Katie Musick and boyfriend, Devan Knight; three great-grandchildren, Kasen Musick, Maisie Dotson and baby Arney on the way; two sisters, Mary Frank and Linda Clifton; several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice and all of the caregivers and nurses that took such good care of Frances, especially nurses Keith, Paige and Anna Marie; along with daughter-in-law, Angie Musick, for all that she did for Frances.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Logans Chapel Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ray Amos and Rev. Ryan Shelton officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Musick, Chad Musick, Ethan Musick, Kent Tallman, Jerry Chapman and Caroll Bledsoe.
