Frances Louise Olinger, 91, Kingsport, died on Friday, April 6th at Brookhaven Manor. She was born in Wise County, Virginia on October 21, 1920 to Leala Ramey and Dave Preston Thomas. Frances worked at Kress on Broad Street in Kingsport, TN. She worked until retirement in Alexandria, VA at ITW, but had spent most of her life in Kingsport. Frances loved flowers, to cook, can, garden, crocheting and the Lord and she was of the Holiness Faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Olinger; six brothers, James, A.C., Carl and Robert Thomas, and Fred and Bob Eades; and two sisters, Anna Woodward and Etta Mae Carrico.
Frances is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Lois Head of Kingsport, Shirley and GR Hartsock of Emmett, ID; two granddaughters, Missy Cole of Kingsport and Pam Milburn of Greensburg, IN; three grandsons, Terry, Kim and Kelly Hartsock of ID; ten great-grandchildren: six great-great-grandchildren; brother, John Thomas of Marion, VA; sisters, Ruth Vanhoy and Emma Hammill both of Marion, VA; special nephew, Fairbanks Ramey and special niece, Deanna Jones; and several nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to all her caregivers over the last year; Health South, Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Preston Place, Brookhaven Manor, Amedisys Hospice and granddaughter, Missy Cole.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 12th from 6-8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 pm with Rev. Phillip McNutt officiating.
Music will be provided by Larry and Carolyn Bledsoe.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 13th at 2:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
