Jean Kiser, 76, Kingsport, passed away Saturday March 1, 2008 following a lengthy illness.
She was a life-long resident of Sullivan County and a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School and the Whitney Business College.
Mrs. Kiser was a member of the Ladies' VFW Auxiliary. Jean worked at White Floral and the U.S. Postal Service, retiring after 19 years service.
Jean was a member of the Heritage First Church of God. She enjoyed reading.
She was preceded in death by her father, Claude Hoover; mother, Wilse Hoover; step-mother, Opal Hoover; sisters, Hazel Hoover and Mildred Morgan; and brothers, Tom Hoover, Claude Hoover, Jr., and George Hoover; and grandson, Matthew Kiser.
Surviving are her husband, Frank "Smitty" Kiser; sons, Tommy Kiser and wife, Rene, and Harris Hoover and wife, Marydell; daughter, Lisa Morelock; grandsons, Jacob Kiser and Jordan Kiser; granddaughters, Jessica Kiser, Morgan Morelock, Sarah Hoover, and Hannah Hoover; brothers, Roy Hoover and wife, Ola, and Ted Hoover and wife, Charlotte; sisters, Louise Birchfield and Gene Carroll Williams; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Heritage Church of God. Services will be at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Tilley and Pastor Darrell Sovine officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Kiser, Teddy Davis, Allen Davis, Brad Hoover, Darrell Jones, and Andy Sage.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Adventa Hospice, 2612 N. John B. Dennis Hwy., Kingsport, TN 37660.
The family would like to thank the Wexford House, Hospice, Indian Path, and special nurse, Diane, and all of Jean's friends at Eagle Point.
