Mr. Frank Paul Fezzie, Sr., 95, formerly of Kingsport, died at his home, Saturday, May 17, 2014, in Myrtle Beach surrounded by his family following a brief battle with lung cancer. A native of Pittsfield, MA, he was the son of the late Dominic and Mary Ricci Fezzie. Frank served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, the Elks, and a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge (Kingsport.)
Frank retired from Meade Corporation after 30+ years of service and later became an active member of the Shepherds Center, Meals on Wheels and the Senior Center. He also attended First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Leonard Fezzie, daughter, Francine Delphia, and a brother, Charles Fezzie.
Frank is survived by daughters, Jacqueline "Jackie" Dolen and husband, Larry of Kingsport, and Bobbie Mays and husband, Claude of Gate City; son, Frank "Paul" Fezzie, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Anglique Lingoski and Claire Dodge, both of Pittsfield, MA; brother, Thomas Fezzi of Albuquerque, NM; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at First Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm with Dr. Ron Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Honorary pallbearers will be Claude Mays, Larry Dolen and Tim Doane.
