Fred Austin

Fred Austin, 86, of Fall Branch passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Johnson City Medical Center. He was an avid farmer and had resided most of his life in Fall Branch. Fred was of the Baptist faith.

Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Austin; parents, Walter Lee and Nettie Mae Jessee Austin; daughter, Julia Corby; and one sister, Mary Ellen Phillips.

Survivors include his daughter, Pam Altman and her husband, Keith; two sons, Steve Austin and wife Sanda and Tommy Austin and wife Vickie; seven grandchildren, LeAnne Altman, Becky Lecka, Cody Altman, Shane Austin, Matthew Austin, Ben Blakley, and Hunter Blakley.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Fresenius Dialysis Center of Johnson City for the excellent care that was given to Fred.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch.

The service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch, with Rev. Keith Williams officiating. Music will be provided by Appalachian Trail.

Burial will follow at Lighthouse Church Cemetery.

Rick Good, Mike Reynolds, Billy Watts, Shawn Jenkins, Logan Jenkins, and Bueford Fletcher will serve as pallbearers.
