Fred Hicks Bradley,83, Kingsport, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Born in Kingsport, TN on November 16, 1934, a son of the late George E. and Anna Laura Hicks Bradley, he had resided in this area his entire life.

He was a 1957 graduate of UT, College of Agriculture with a degree in Animal Husbandry and was a member of the Livestock Judging team. Fred was a Veteran of the US Army Reserves, 639th Transportation Company having served during the Berlin Wall crisis of 1961-62. He owned and operated several businesses in town including Bradley Bros. Construction Company, Bradley Farms, Brookside Mini Storage, Bradley Bros. Trucking and Kingsport Livestock Auction. His passion was the cattle industry. He had many farms and ran a successful commercial beef cattle business. Fred was a founding member of the National Cattleman's Beef Association, the Tennessee Livestock Association and the Tennessee Livestock Marketing Association. In addition, he served as a representative for the State of Tennessee to the National Beef Board. He was a member of the Colonial Heights United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Hendricks Bradley, and 2 brothers, Donald F. Bradley, George E. Bradley, Jr.

Fred is survived by his sons, Hunter Bradley and wife, Diane, and Steve Bradley and wife, Kimberly, both of Kingsport; grandchildren, Tyler Bradley, Tanner Bradley, and Anna Bradley; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5-7:00 pm at Colonial Heights United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Robert Burlingham officiating.

The graveside service will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm at East Lawn Memorial Park. Military Honors will be accorded by American Legion, Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265. Those attended the committal services are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 12:45 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Colonial Heights United Methodist Church, John's Island Mission Fund, 631 Lebanon Road, Kingsport, TN 37663.
