Fred A. Hilton, 94, went to be with the Lord on October 30, 2015 with his family by his side. He was born and raised in Scott County and resided in Kingsport. Fred was a World War II Veteran. He was a member of Victory Baptist for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and Nascar when he was younger. Fred was loved by all who knew him. He left a testimony behind and he loved the Lord and everyone knew it. Fred loved his family and friends, and his little dog Meeko.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Peggy; parents, Frank and Grace; sisters, Geneva and Sybil; grandson, Jacob.
Fred is survived by his son, Larry Hilton of Kingsport; two daughters, Judith Everhart and Janice McQueen, both of Kingsport; grandchildren, Tim Everhart, Kim Robbins, Shane Myers, Krystle McQueen, Tonya Hilton; great-grandchildren, Drew Everhart, Hannah and Savannah Stipes, Katrina Robbins, and Bradley Robbins; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow with Pastor Larry Morelock officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Military Rites will be conducted by the V. F. W. Boone Dam Color Guard.
