Freda Carol Barger Darnell, 66, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Indian Path Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was born in Scott County, Virginia and had resided in Kingsport most of her life. She was a loving mother, mamaw and friend. Freda enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and anyone who knew her was touched by her kindness.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Don Jones, parents; Bill and Virginia Barger.

Freda is survived by two daughters, Becky Jones- Bottorff, Kingsport , Regina Ellsworth and husband Brian, Murfreesboro Tennessee, son , Mark Jones and wife Tonya, Seymour, Tennessee, six grandchildren; Julianne, Hannah, Cierra, Amanda, Anna, and Sarah, three great grandchildren; Aidyn, Dameon, and Israyel, Sister; Connie Barger, Kingsport, brother; Rickey Barger and wife Linda, Scott County, Virginia, three nephews; Steven, Kenneth and Keith.

The family will receive friends Monday, June, 29, 2009, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m..

A graveside service to celebrate the life of Freda will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Holston View Cemetery with Pastor J.W. Depew officiating.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
