Freddie Lee Hughes, Jr., 63, Kingsport, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, August 9, 2013 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Freddie was a former employee of Brock Services. He was an avid fisherman, big game hunter and a lifetime member of the Tennessee 79'ers Bass Club. He loved sports, especially bowling, NASCAR and the UT Vols. In the 1970's he raced late model sports cars with legends such as Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty.
His father, Fred Lee Hughes of Kingsport preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Sheran Hughes; daughter and son-in-law, Yvette and Ignacio Moline-Salis, Duluth, GA; son, Fred Hughes III, Summerfield, FL; stepson and wife, Dale and Penny Hodges, Blountville, TN; stepdaughters and husbands, Terina and Jeff Davis, Knoxville, TN and Veronica and Scott Gregg, Knoxville, TN; nine grandchildren; mother, Marian Hughes, Kingsport, TN; sister, Karen Gibbons, Kingsport, TN; brother, Tony Hughes, Church Hill, TN; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
