Freddie M. Johnson, 92, Church Hill, died Saturday June 9, 2007 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.Born in the Milburnton Community of Greene County, Freddie had resided most of her life in Kingsport. Freddie was a graduate of Greeneville High School and received a teaching certificate from East Tennessee Teachers? College. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Greenvale Missionary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bessie Milburn; husband, Luther M. Johnson; one brother, Les Milburn; and one sister, Sue Milburn. Surviving are her two sons, Bill Johnson, Durham, NC, and Eddie Johnson and wife, Terry, Alcoa, TN; two grandchildren, Will Johnson and Sarah Reinfelder; sisters, June Hensley, Limestone, TN, and Mattie Milburn, Church Hill, TN; and brothers, Glen Milburn and wife, Inez, Greene County, and Elbert Milburn and wife, Iva Nell, also of Greene County.The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will be at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Kevin Morris officiating.Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Holston View Cemetery with Rev. J. W. Depew officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at Hamlett-Dobson in Kingsport at 10:30 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
