G. Cecil Gass
G. Cecil Gass, 79, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 13, 2007, at Wexford House following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Greene County, Tennessee on October 4, 1927, but had resided in Kingsport for most of his life. He was a member of Oakwood Forest Christian Church and retired from Tennessee Eastman Company following 39 years of service.
His parents, Rex and Dessie Gass; and a sister, Rachie Hensley, preceded him in death.
Surviving are two sisters, Helen Wise, Johnson City, TN, and Nella Mae Canter, Kingsport; one brother, J. D. Gass, Kingsport; nephews, Robert Conley, Wayne Conley, Morris Wyatt, Richard Hensley, Leonard Hensley; and a niece, Linda Hensley Deel.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Hugh Thompson, Minister, officiating. Joe Johnson will provide music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Friday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Oakwood Forest Christian Church, 1713 E. Sevier Avenue, Kingsport, TN 37664.
